People are usually surprised by how little is asked of them. The entire physical contribution is a swab that takes under a minute. Everything after that happens on our side.
One: the consultation
An hour with our Director of Client Experience. We are not selling during this call — we are working out what the piece is for. A memorial for a parent and a celebratory piece for yourself are different objects, and the difference is decided here, not later.
We cover theme, abstraction level, scale, framing, and where it will hang. Room matters more than people expect: the same piece behaves differently on plaster than on concrete.
Two: the collection kit
A discreet kit arrives by post. You take the swab, seal it, and send it back. The process is physician-supervised at every stage, and the packaging carries no clinical branding.
Three: visualization
Your sample is processed and rendered, translating the biological structure into a visual for the first time. This is the stage clients tend to find unexpectedly affecting — it is the first time you see the architecture you are built from.
You see this rendering before any paint is committed, and it informs the final direction.
Four: the painting
Our Artist in Residence builds the work by hand, in layers. Heavy texture, rich colour, gold leaf and mixed media, worked over multiple passes with drying time between them.
This is the stage that takes real time, and it is not one we rush. Layers built too quickly do not hold.
Delivery and installation
The finished work is delivered and installed. Placement is part of the commission, not an afterthought — hanging height and the light a piece receives change how it reads entirely.
