Rod cells stack hundreds of membrane discs, each one loaded with pigment waiting for a single photon. They are how you see in near-darkness. The structure that catches faint light in a night sky, drawn as the light it was built to catch.
Structure: rod outer-segment discs
Float framed canvas. The canvas is stretched over premium 38mm bars and set inside a black frame with a shadow gap, so the work sits as an object rather than under glass.
Printed on 400gsm textured artist-grade cotton canvas, 12-colour giclée.
Frame: black, solid moulding. Edges: black wrap.
