Description
The darkest irises hold the densest pigment—melanin packed through the stroma until the fibres nearly disappear. Iris Mahogany draws that depth in oxblood and brown-gold: a surface that seems to absorb the light around it, the crypts opening like dark wood grain.
Structure: iris stroma
Float framed canvas. The canvas is stretched over premium 38mm bars and set inside a black frame with a shadow gap, so the work sits as an object rather than under glass.
Printed on 400gsm textured artist-grade cotton canvas, 12-colour giclée.
Frame: black, solid moulding. Edges: black wrap.
